Position Available: Youth Pastor
Youth Pastor (Grades 7-12)
The Youth Pastor will administer, develop and implement youth ministries and programs designed to meet spiritual, social and emotional needs of the youth in the church and community.
Senior Pastor is to approve nomination before being presented to church body. The Youth Pastor will work under the direction of the Senior Pastor. Youth Pastor will consult all plans, responsibilities, policies and changes with Senior Pastor.
Youth Pastor may be considered for bonuses. This will be done on a case by case basis with multiple factors to be considered by the PC. Recommendations will be sent to the Stewardship/Finance Committee for approval.
Job Responsibilities…
- Develop, oversee and coordinate the activities of the youth program.
- Disciple and mentor youth for ministry and leadership roles.
- Develop activities that provide Christian fun and fellowship for all youth.
- Develop outreach events that appeal and draw the unsaved.
- Develop a visitation program and/or be an active member/leader of church visitation program.
- Create service ministry opportunities for the youth.
- Organize retreats, conferences and camps for our youth (minimum one (1) per year for the purpose of spiritual edification).
- Develop and oversee the Sunday School Class, Discipleship Training Class and Wed. Evening Class.
- To faithfully attend church services and church wide activities.
- Attend and participate in all youth activities.
- Promote the youth ministry to the church and local community.
- Develop relationships with area schools and officials.
- Develop and oversee the budget for the youth ministries.
- Attend monthly business meeting and give activity and budget report.
- Teach youth in Vacation Bible School or as directed by VBS Director.
- Develop a youth music ministry with the assistance of the Music Director.
- Attend yearly training opportunities.
- Recruit adult leaders to help in all youth areas and meet monthly to discuss needs, vision, issues, etc.
- Meet with Youth Parents initially and on as needed basis.
- Involve Youth Parents in activities if acceptable or needed.
Youth Disciplinary Problems- handle quickly and biblically and seek Senior Pastor for help/advice as needed. Senior Pastor is to be addressed on all issues that could disrupt youth program.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A vital personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
- A call to pastoral ministry from God.
- Spiritual gifts relevant to the position of ministry.
- A special concern for youth and their spiritual lives.
- Training in youth ministry and a desire for further training and growth.
- Committed to teamwork with the pastoral staff.
- Committed to the church doctrine and the programs of the church (1Tim.3)
- If married, spouse willing to faithfully support and serve.
- Be willing to acquire appropriate CDL License to drive church bus, if needed.
Required Experience/Skills
- At least 2 yrs. Experience leading or assist leading a youth ministry.
- At least 2 yrs. Leadership training or leadership experience in a church.
- Experience in developing and growing a relevant youth ministry.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- 4+ yrs. Successful student ministry experience leading a youth ministry.
- Musical talents (you or spouse) a plus.
SALARY
- Beginning annual salary $13,000 (Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.)
